Sarah Johnson is a mixed media artist, photographer, and educator whose work combines traditional processes such as drawing and cyanotypes with experimental digital techniques to create a distinctive lo-fi aesthetic. Inspired by the natural world, particularly water and the flora and fauna that surround it, her work explores the intersection of analog and digital image making.

Johnson has exhibited throughout Colorado and Nebraska, including her third solo exhibition at the Hippodrome Arts Centre, where she helped launch the gallery in 2014. In 2024, she was selected to paint a utility box as part of Longmont’s Art in Public Places initiative, bringing original artwork into the community’s public spaces.
She holds a BFA in Studio Art from University of Nebraska–Lincoln, an MA in Art & Design from University of Northern Colorado, and an MA in Gallery and Museum Management from Western Colorado University. In addition to her studio practice, Johnson teaches high school photography, has previously taught painting and printmaking at Aims Community College, and leads a variety of workshops for adult learners.
